Bum Pay Raises
It is very difficult for the USA citizens to believe they must be without Health care, Social Security, Jobs, Benefits because the USA is impoverished while Congress votes to give itself a 3% salary increase.
It should be noted that Michelle Bachmann is one of the people receiving the pay raise.
Why reform Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security when Congress gives itself a 3 % pay raise? How is that a shared sacrifice Washington, DC is sharing with American people? Or is Congress just choking the very people they claim to be representing?
This hub was written two years ago and it is as true today as it was two years ago. Congress is consistent.

Q: Did Congress raise its own pay for 2010 while voting to deny an increase for Social Security recipients? A: Yes. A chain e-mail calling for
Throw the Bums Out Now!!!
Personally, I will not vote for anyone in Congress who has given themselves a raise during these horrible economic times. It is time to throw all the bums out of DC. The biggest welfare recipients in the USA are the government and that includes Michelle Bachmann.
There is nothing left for Washington to take from the poor and disenfranchised. The only people who have anything left to take is Congress. I think they all need pink slips. Unemploy them and perhaps then and only then will they begin to feel the pain the rest of this country does. If they don’t feel our pain then how can they possibly represent any of us?
I wouldn't tell you how to vote. My Audience is smart enough to make up their own minds but I wouldn't vote for anyone who gave themselves a raise during the dire economic times. But that is only my opinion and I look forward to hearing yours.
As for Bachmann, I find her to be incredulous as a candidate while giving herself a raise and claiming to be a fiscal conservative. Apparently, she is not a fiscal conservative when it comes to voting herself a raise.
Shared Sacrifice
Do you think Congress should have give itself a raise during horrible economic times in our country?

Update October 2, 2013
Astonishingly, the bums that are in office are now worse than they were two years ago when I first write this article. A lot of Congress lost their seats but the body of Congress only functions dysfunction ally. As I write to you this evening, Congress has fired almost a million federal employees who I feel very sorry for but there are no jobs outside of government in this country any longer. Unemployment has sky rocketed.
This entire knock down drag out fight is over Obamacare which I have significant concerns about however when Michelle Bachmann starts speaking she is killing the Republican cause. Please someone get the hook and get her out of the public light. It could have been a legitimate debate but Bachmann spin is just way too much.
Please Shut This Woman Up!
Running From the Team Party
There are those of us Republicans (Old Guard) who do not recognize the Neo-cons or the Tea Party who are extremely liberal especially with the people's money. I would argue that the foundation of the Republican Party is not the conservatives but the moderates. While I consider myself old guard and not moderate I have a lot of Democratic friends. The worst part of all of this is that once again they are going to default and not raise the debt ceiling (Where is all the money going?) while almost a million federal employees are unemployed, and over a a Healthcare Act which has already passed.
Congress is on the clock. The bickering and fighting seems like petty power games by people who have no money, sense of morality to divide the country by partisanship. My position will continue to be to vote these guys out until they start working for the people instead of their own self interests.
With the debt ceiling needing to be raised again, Congress shutting down the federal government, and their inability to work effectively and efficiently handling the people's business what do they do?

What do you think Congress has done?
And Congress is not alone!
Raise the Debt Ceiling to Pay for Representative Salaries?
Do you think we should raise the debt ceiling to pay for policians' raises when they habitually mismanage the finances of our country?
Update October 3, 2013
Congress proves me right everytime. Today there was a shooting in DC of a woman in a car with a child. The details are sketchy and I am certain that we will find out more in days to come but they claim it is not terrorism related.
- There are shootings everyday in neighborhoods all around America and it is barely mentioned in the news at all. So for DC to go into this lock down mode over one erratic driver is amazing to me. Congress needs to ride down the Ronald Reagan Turnpike!
- All of Congress had safe rooms to run to. The average person is out there naked and unprotected in the world. I saw an interview with a family from DC that was near the site and they were told to lie on the ground by the police but then ran in the bushes when they heard more gunfire.
- Congress, who can not do their jobs and will let this debt ceiling fall, has an army while everyone in America is on their own hiding in the bushes? With a 10% approval rating and shutting down the government, Congresses only hope for being useful was to be the body armor of those they represent in DC on this very tragic day but alas Congress proves they are cowardly, lazy bums who are absolutely useless.
You have to wonder why we have representative because they are so divorced from the real world and the consequences of their actions that they are useless. Throw the bums out until they learn to be responsible, accountable and serve the people they represent and not just claim to represent.
In Conclusion
It is breath taking how out of touch Washington DC is with the average person. It is just getting worse. I remember something about checks and balances and it seems like a den of cronies scratching each other's back. There was a time when we could be proud to be an American but those days have passed. Our leaders are so corrupt and greedy; our country resembles a third world country run by feudalism. It is the "Me Generation to the nth degree" in DC and I advocate for all of the bums to be thrown out and to continue to throw out our leaders until the bums get it they work for us. Keep throwing them out too until they no longer resemble these individuals. I am non-partisan. If you are serving in Congress right now consider this your notice that the American people await your resignation and that goes for anyone serving and has nothing to do with party affiliation. Goodbye, DC. Farewell!
It is boring. Same old...same old!
