    Did you know that the USA has been under a state of emergency since 2001?

      I did not know that the USA has been under a state of emergency that authorizes the President with some pretty amazing restraints at his discretion.
      This has been in effect since 2001 after the attack on 9/11
      I thought it had been rescinded, but it has been extended each year.

    Yes.  And there are different "state of emergency" levels. It's not nearly as high as it was after 9/11.

    In 1861, Lincoln enacted similar emergency measures until the conclusion of the Civil War. During wartime, presidents of the United States often assume such implied powers. In 2001, President Bush announced that we were not in a war against another country, but in a war on "Terror" (whatever that means), and that this war would continue into perpetuity. So thanks to a loophole in the Constitution, Americans have lost the Bill of Rights forever.
