How should rapists be treated?
Should they receive a custodial sentence? chemical or physical castration?
What do you guys think?
The same exact way they treat their victims Xs 3 .......... Extremely Ballzy without THOUght, CONsideration or CONcious
Research excluding all but that coming out of the RCC shows the highest recidivism rates out there. With that said, rape is an act of aggression, dominance, dehumanization and power. Keeping that in mind, chemical castration and/or physical castration will not work, which has also been shown by the data. These sadistic offenders when limited in such ways turn to objects to replace their tool of choice. I think permanent incarceration with other rapist and them only is the answer. Let them perpetrate their crimes on others like themselves. Further, make them work to pay for it. I don’t want my tax money going to feed them, clothe them, house them or anything else but remove them.
Would finding a medication to remove or reduce their libido not work? Many drugs out their reduce a persons sex drive, could one of these not be used?
For serial rapist and others who do such things for fun or show that they can do whatever they like should be hanged but if victim is willing to show a little Merci for any reason Poetvix's solution is advisable.
I am a therapist working with Juvenile S.O.'s. right now. Poetvix is right on with her answer. Castration will not work as this particular body part is not necessary for committing an offense. We would have to get rid of fingers, tongues, toys, and other things as well. Medication can reduce libido, but it does not eliminate it. Most offenders can and want to change. Intensive therapy and close supervision is appropriate for them. There are definitely a group who cannot. They need to be locked up...period.

Should convicted rapists be forced to undergo a permanent vasectomy to prevent unfair pregnancies?Just because they did it once, doesn't mean they will do it again. Yeah right. Like a shark smelling blood the rapist will seek another target sooner or later. It is an addiction to power and control...

Is it enough punishment to help safeguard our children? Not to mention our adults? As often as rape occurs, sex offenders still do less time in prison than drug traffickers.Given we know sex offenders attack primarily for the violence, and not the sexual gratification, would castration be...

Should a convicted rapist be chemically or physically castrated, or does the current system work? The argument against castrating a convicted rapist, is that the act itself is a product of anger and frustration, castrating them would probably lead to more murders. The argument for castration is that...

Should a convicted rapist be castrated? Two arguments exist regarding this question. For castration is as a punishment, but also to remove the ability to repeat the act. Against castration is based along the idea that rape is a crime of anger and frustration, meaning this would inevitably lead to...

What should the be the punishment for child sex offenders, and child killers? This has been in debate for a very longtime among many of my Christian friends. It seem to be a very sensitive subject for all of them! I am really curious about what everybody on Hubpages thinks.

Mental disorders. True or false?I was taught my entire life that mental disorders do not exist and that they are a thing of the mind and after all... you control your own mind. Depression is a weakness, just simply choose to be happy. A.D.D is an excuse to not pay attention. Anxieties and stress is...
