Do you think Congress should request a DOJ investigation to harassment of conservative blogs?

It was announced that 65 senators are petitioning Congress to address the fact that conservative bloggers are being blacklisted and harassed on the web.  Do you believe there is more prejudice against conservative hubbers?

Is that a joke? "Dear Federal Government, I am a conservative and so want a small government with limited powers. I really wish you would stop helping all of those welfare losers and intruding into our lives. P.S. Someone is picking on me, would you please help me out? P.S.S Could you do something about regulating my neighbor's uterus. God told me she is using it wrong. Thanks."

What happened to the conservatives who were hopping up and down about the federal government getting involved in the Trayvon Martin case? Let the local authorities do their job they complained. But now that conservative bloggers are being harassed they want to call in the cavalry.

If it actually is a federal issue, than by all means investigate, but while they are at it, perhaps they could look into the death threats being received by scientists who support global warming and by atheists who support the separation of church and state, and by anyone else receiving such harassment and intimidation.

It is Free Speech they are investigating.  Junkseller, look at the response Attikos gave to the Left's harassment of the Right yesterday that you answered.  As I responded yesterday, I was PHYSICALLY attacked.  GW scientists? It's a polarity shift.

And in the Trayvon case they were investigating a hate crime. I don't see any logical position which makes one okay and the other not. Do you?

I don't understand what you mean about free speech compared to Trayvon Martin hate crime. One is a federal hate crime, other  constitutional. I think I heard on the news that they made some "determination" in that case.  Will hear on news tonight.

I just don't understand the logic behind how conservatives seem to pick and choose federal intrusion. Conservative bloggers, yes. Trayvon, no. Uteruses, yes. Christianity, no. Islam, yes. Pollution regulations, no. Free land for polluters, yes. Etc.

Yes, it seems to me that the conservatives are being black listed, and they are just telling their point of views.  There is nothing wrong with that, but everytime a conservative says anything against Obama or liberals, they are called, racist, no good, don't care about the country and blah blah blah.  If congress starts getting involved to STOP the harassment that is great, they should be big enough to protect the citizens of the United States, but small enough to allow us to control our own lives.  What I am saying is if we need them they are there.

I agree wholeheartedly with all of this.  I know from experience.

Junkseller - In addition to the fact this is a FEDERAL matter because it infringes on the 1st Amendment, your ranting about the other stuff is evidence you've been "hoodwinked" by the left.  The stuff about capitalism, well, I've written responses to these in my hubs.  About the uterus, let me just say, as a woman whose case is pending right now in Federal Court regarding female matters and an untreated burst appendix, it was Liberal physicians that left me for dead.  In fact, most doctors are liberal, and although they spew out support for the poor by voting democratic, believe me when I tell you that what they vote for is POWER.  Power in medical care is power over the SOUL.  If you believe that they will treat infectious disease in women who are taking the pill only, well let me just open eyes to the fact that they don't.  They used to when people's voices mattered in medicine (which I want to restore), but for now, not only women but men also are exploited in this fashion.  What happens to them as a result?  They become sick and thus poor.  I want to change this.  I am an activist in it right now as I write this.  Read my more recent hub.  Don't believe every lie you're told.  The liberals on top do not care about welfare of the liberals below.  They want totalitarianism and they want control and power - and that is all.

When did I say I was a liberal or a democrat or liked the medical system? You seemed like someone who wouldn't attack the person versus their argument, but I guess not.

I just read more about this. This about the SWATing of two conservative bloggers. The reports have said it was the same voice on all calls. How does this become about all liberals? I definitely do not support such behavior as most people don't.

It wasn't initially.  It became one in response to a comment.

I don't believe there is more prejudice against conservative hubbers. All political blogs get attacked by those who disagree with them, that is the same for liberal hubbers. People on the net like to hide behind the anonymity of the net.

Yes, but I don't see conservatives calling liberals racist, cowards, know nothings, where liberals attack like that all the time.  Even on another hub, I was attacked, just for saying to vote, I didn't say who for, but just to vote be heard.

Obviously we read different blogs or websites, on the ones I am on perceived liberals are only called un-American, socialists, communists, child molesters, cowards, know nothings, racists, anything you name...
