Will the E;ection 2012 rhetoric finally get serious now? Hey! We've got real problems folks!
Rhetoric will be the same and every previous rhetoric was serious.
Interesting question. However, i am not sure if that semicolon should be a "j", "L" or "r". LOL. Assuming it should be an "L" i would have to say a resounding "NO".
There will not be any substantive rhetoric, as that would mean they would be forced to blatantly lie about what they are actually up to (the tea party agenda). Their agendas against women, elderly, the poor, and minorities will not be felt until well after they take control of the country, and congress itself.
So, yes, we certainly do have a real problem looming over our heads.
Candidates are puppets that get into office by promising favors to wealthy and powerful individuals. When they get into office their main goal is to satisfy their monetary supporters. The last real president we had was John F. Kennedy, and look what happened to him. Once you start trying to actually change things (Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X) they kill you.
I hope so, and that the candidates will start hitting the trail with solutions for the deficit, workplace and getting us fiscally sound.
oh, how we can all wish for such, but I fear that it will forever be the same until the day the masses stand up and say "ENOUGH".
What about term limits?
How about a cap on campaign spending?
What if we tried to operate the government the way so many manage a healthy, vibrant family earning 20,00 and less?
How about we choose to work toward mutual goals and not root for our particular team?
What if....
Zounds! You don't think it's serious already?
I'm not sure if I can take it if it becomes much more intense.
Short answer is no...but what can you expect from puppets being displayed as intelligent men.
It is going to be a very long election season...with a sad result for some...but little results for all. And that you can bank on!
What political rhetoric??? I've been described as "political," since my first trip to the polls back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and we cast our votes in stone like the Flintstones. All kidding aside, what I am finding is that every 4 years my B.S. tolerance is getting less and less. I'm a firm believer in activism as a tool to cause change...but after seeing how the Wall Street demonstration played out I've become slightly jaded again. It seems we will stick to pattern and money will continue to talk while social and personal morality walks.
The whole thing is a joke, wasted money, and broken promises. There is no good party anymore and I am a die hard democrat not saying that I do not like Obama, just think this whole government is a joke. It doesnt really matter if we vote because the electorial college will vote in who they want. There will never be anything from any politician but false prophesies and as I see the world will end one day that is the path it is taking.
And Cheryl nails it...America doesn't really have the possibility of voting in a president...the Electoral College...does that for everyone.
Stop the Insanity! Stop the two year distraction of campaigning...when one is done...vote in another. Save $
Election rhetoric is just that! Promises! promises! promises! Sounds like a song.

I saw this Dr. John Whitley on Anderson Cooper tonight. I will have to find that clip. Anderson chewed him up good and spat him out.But the real question is -- do they honestly have nothing better to offer the citizens of North Carolina than Trump redux? Really?North Carolina is apparently ground...

I'm very curious about the undecided voters out there. What issues are important to you? What are you looking for in the president? What do base your election decisions on? What do you like/dislike about Romney and Obama?
