How do you explain 9/11 to children when they ask you about it?
So that they will know what happened and the circumstances why it happened.
When I was a child, I used to have nightmares about our country going to war. I had many family members that went to war that often talked about it. It haunted me.
My state suffered a school shooting and my children were told about it in school. The front doors of schools are on lock down. No one comes or goes without identification.
When I was a child, my grandmother would often tell me that if I went outside after dark, I might be abducted by a stranger.
So when I look in to the eyes of my own children, I tell them that I love them. I want the best for them. Sometimes bad things happen in this lifetime. I will do everything I can do protect them. But some things are out of our control.
So now my children tell me what they would do. They would promote living peacefully as much as possible. I don't instill in them the fear that was once instilled in me. They see it and hear it every day. The world has changed since I was a child.
I don't really have to tell them a thing. They seem to be accepting already because it goes on so often.
I think I would let them learn about this tragic event in school. Surely it is being taught in history.
They won't tell the details that show it was a faction within our government responsible for it. Won't tell how NIST scientists lied about steel offering Zero resistance to collapse -- hiding controlled demolition.
It would all depend on the age of the child. For younger children, I'd keep it simple. My niece and nephew were about 7 and 6 when it happened. My sis-in-law wouldn't let them watch the repeated coverage, but sat down with them and let them watch the news once and answered their questions with direct answers. The following weekend, we went into Pittsburgh for a concert. Before the doors opened, we showed them the skyline, described how much bigger the Trade Center was, and again answered questions. You can do something similar by finding videos on-line. Let them watch (if you don't think it would too much of a shock) and then directly answer their questions.
My 8 year old told me before going to school today that today is 9/11, the day airplanes flew into the buildings in New York. I let that be that. To her this is ancient history - she was surprised to find out I was alive when this happened. I was a student at Pitt, I'll never forget how surreal the city was after the news reported that a plane in Somerset had crashed and we were all sent home to our basements as campus closed down. Thousands of people everywhere crowded the streets - all on their cell phones that were too busy to work. So many silent people.
We'll discuss the politics and theories behind it when she's older and asking questions about that, but none of those came up this time around. As there's no comfort going down that road, I choose to leave her sense of well-being in tact for now. Children are the keepers of happy energy - who am I to take any of THAT out of this world?
Be well,

Your explanation must be stated at a level applicable to their age and ability for comprehension. You could explain that this was the action of evil men who do not know God. For it was under the control of evil men that this tragedy took place.
Then you should ask for their questions and answer them explicitly. During this time, you should continually ask them to provide a statement about the answer you have given them. Through this direct attention, the details will be worked out for all participants. God bless you and yours.
I explain it this way:
Some very greedy, ruthless men were willing to murder thousands so that they could provoke their own government into approving invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. They also wanted to get rid of pesky whistleblowers at Marsh & McLennan; the whistleblowers showed up for the meeting at the impact zone, but the execs teleconferenced in from off-site. They wanted to get rid of evidence in WTC7 held by the SEC. And they wanted to get rid of financial records of lost $2.3 Trillion being investigated at the Pentagon impact zone.
They had a willing accomplice with Mayor Giuliani who started cleaning up the crime scene on the evening of 9/11. They rewarded with promotions the military officers who were responsible for the massive security failures on 9/11. And they paid their NIST scientists well to defraud the world with lousy science, even going so far as to tell the world that solid steel can offer zero resistance to collapse.
The Rockefellers knew about 9/11 more than a year before the event. They were looking forward to it, because it would give America Iraq and Afghanistan.
Several insiders got rich that day, because they had millions of dollars in put options on the two airlines involved in the tragedy.
Before 9/11, a number of FBI agents were frustrated with their bosses blocking their attempts to detain the supposed hijackers before 9/11. And some of those supposed hijackers protested after 9/11 that they did not die in the event and had had nothing to do with it.
Even Osama Bin Laden stated that he had nothing to do with 9/11. The only video ever tying him to 9/11 was re-translated by German investigators and found to be quite different from the American government translation.
So, some very, very bad men have betrayed their country, their oaths of office, murdering, committing treason and possibly more, but we need to forgive them for their trespasses.
The events of Revelation have already started. I suspect 9/11 was one of them. And the arrogance of Obama with his WWW (666) statement penned on a beam of the new World Trade Center tower is likely the Abomination of Desolation of which Jesus spoke.
Soon, all of these crimes won't matter, because the great spiritual awakening will be upon us. God created us in His image and likeness and He is not Homo sapiens. That says a lot about who we really are.

Do you have any? and do you...

Some countries would say America is for always involving itself in other countries issues and economies. Americans are lead to believe the biggest problem is a toss up between Iran and North Korea even though we are involved in Iraq and Afghanistan still. Other would say China because it is the...
