From what I have learned about them,
    If they're talking ~ they're lying.

Nope. They have an inherent conflict of interest. We live in a plutocracy, where he (or she) who has the most money has the most influence---and, thus, political power.

People are starting to recognize the flaws in our so-called democracy, so stay tuned. Things change fast.

No, we can not trust politicians, and there is no immediate way to know that they are lying. Jesus said that we shall know a false prophet by the fruit of his words. Any other way of knowing whether a politician is lying is a crap shot.

Politicians lie in the name of what's best for America and national security, and feel highly patriotic. This nullifies ethics. Forget it; lying by politicians is inherent to all goverments.

    Heck ..No!
The Republicans just blocked the Bill for Campaign Reform.
Politicians in the US can accept large sums of money from corporations and the rich all because of "free speech". Lobbyist from Heath Insurance, Oil companies, Drug Companies and other major corporations are buying them out with ease.

They will mute others from becoming politicians who are more likely to tell you the truth.

With legalized bribery is it no wonder why many politicians are always blocking something good for the gullible masses.

Just watch the news, they are just fighting to reduce taxes for the rich, who will never go hungry or lose their lifestyle even if they pay badly needed taxes. But they will force the government not the help the unfortunate hardworking citizens who can't find jobs.

They are going to pay-back only those who funded their campaigns.
We only get lies in the name of free speech.

Yes, some will tell you the truth but they are too few and muted out too often.

if the stakeholders really want to know the truth about the issues that their politicians present to the public, they must not solely rely on news report, one must do his/her own research about the topic to have better judgement not just whether the politician is lying or not, but in understanding the issue as well.
