Through out history, Americans and Citizens through the world, have envisioned themselves asking their President a question.

After watching Jay Leno's Tonight Show, I thought this might be a good forum topic.
Jay Leno asked him if there was any chance of somebody going to jail over the AIG Bonuses Scandal.  I would ask him if there was anyway to eliminate the Patriot Act.

So what if you had Obama's or your world leader's undivided attention what would you ask them or say?

"Mr. President...you've made it very clear that your economic plan for America ultimately mimicks "Socialism". Socialism being the act of taking money from successful, hardworking citizens and dividing it evenly with other less fortunate wage earners, so all are equal. You described your plan as "spreading the wealth" in a live, televised conversation with average American citizen "JOE the PLUMBER".

      1) What monetary scale or financial equation are you going to use to determine a wage earners "salary excesses" or "disposable income" ?

      2) What income level are you planning to set as the "standard" allowance, that all Americans must live within?

Because it has ran its course.  President Obama is no more a Socialist than you are.  If you want answers to your question, they can be quite easily answered by reading some American history.  This isn't new.  It's not like this all hasn't happened before.  I would start with the Jefferson Presidency.  It is not hard to see the definite pattern.

Some times I think this standard "socialism/socialist" verbiage is just plain'o people not understanding basic American economics or lacking the memory of American history class from the 9th grade. Obama is not a "socialist" anymore than Bush was/is.roll

    2) How much are you making from other countries to totally destroy the one you are in charge of?

    3) Is the Amero being produced and when will it be in circulation?

    4) When you have no experience in running a country would you consider hiring someone that doesn't know how to run a business much less the US treasury? Doh - you did!!!

This list could go on forever..........

What kind of response is this? What are you like 7 years old? Did you start this thread or did your father?

Mr. Obama's $3.6 trillion budget blueprint, by his own admission, redefines the role of government in our economy and society. The budget more than doubles the national debt held by the public, adding more to the debt than all previous presidents -- from George Washington to George W. Bush -- COMBINED!!! -

Get your head out of the sand - He is destroying the US from within.

Unfortunately he is not, it takes money to make money and to get an impoverished Country back on track, while the banks wrote bad loans, the stock market preyed on the bundles and the people and the people believed in the mortgage brokers and banks , greed set in and the wealthy became VERY WEALTHY , while the middle class began to dissapear.
The original funds went to our wonderful banks and amazingly they were having fun giving out large bonuses and laying people off. How are jobs supposed to come back if you don't utilize money??? Personally our government should have given the money to us the consumer, we in turn would have paid mortgages, debts, etc. we would have stimulated the economy. The banks aren't  stimulating the economy they are hoarding that money, so what you should be angry at is how the money from begin to end was distributed not at a President who already inherited a lovely mess.
If you had been elected President and inherited a trillion dollar deficit, millions of people were laid off, lost their homes, many states were BK and your banks were having lavish parties, and paying their CEO's mega bonuses, that is the taxpayers money, what would you have done the first 64 days in office. Remember you are walking into one hell of a mess. Please provide constructive and positive feedback as you are now the President of the United States. smile

One last thing they now state that this month the housing market is up appr. 5.8% people are buying homes, Here is the downside the new person moving into your neighborhood has now paid $70,000 for the same house that you paid $300,000 now you as a homeowner are still upside down and that home next door just sank your home property value to nothing. You are paying $3000.00 a month on a mortgage and the banks will not re-fi as you are completely upside down, but your new neighbor is paying  $600.00 a month for the same home in a very nice neighborhood, how would you feel about that remember you are now the President and we the people need some serious answers, plant your feet in his shoes. smile

Very good words. I think though we need to stop placing blames on a class or any one person and start blaming their actions outright..to deal with the whole heart of the matter.

Your idea of giving money to the consumers and having them find the right way to use it may just as well have been better. However, the Federal Reserve (a consortium of private businesses in the guise of a quasi-public 'government' entity) issues our currency and they decide what they're going to do with it.

In the end, though, as many are seeing and starting to realize....currency backed only by faith is kind of useless if you can't rally the troupe and make them devout believers again. Its interesting to note I think that even if ALL the money stopped flowing tomorrow we still would have the infrastructure and materials to keep making stuff and society going.

With this kind of currency (and credit scores, speculation investments, etc) we are only diluting its real purpose and use. In my humble opinion, anyway.

Also, can we please act kindly? Our differences shouldn't divide us, they're meant to define us.

And in reaction to the AIG bonuses...whats more important? These guys getting millions of dollars that congress voted into legislation because they didn't have "any" time to waste? Or the fact more of the money "we" decided to loan AIG went overseas to foreign interests?

Over two hundred million in compensation for American CEOs...versus 65 billion that went to France, Germany, I think China, etc...

      What makes you more angry?

I teach in a school district that just got some relief via ARRA.  So I am grateful to Mr. Obama and others who made this possible.  My spouse's employer, however, just announced they'd be cutting thousands of positions in the coming days.  So, my question to the president is, "What more can you do to keep big business from cutting jobs just to make sure stock holders and CEOs stay wealthy?"  I do realize that Obama just become president and I need to be patient.  But like many Americans, I'm nervous about my continued ability to stay afloat in this economy.

    1. BDazzler profile image78

Most stock is in people's retirement funds, not "rich people's" pockets ... every point of drop in the stock market is a direct hit on my parent's standard of living. And they have never been "rich".

And CEOs get into their line of work to get and stay wealthy.  Most of them have worked hard to get where they are.  They don't hire people just to give them jobs. They hire people to help them make money.  Frankly I WANT my boss to stay rich.  It's job security. If I am making him money, I have a job.

Pull those two things (stock holders and CEOs) and you ulitmately get state control of all goods and services. That's clearly been Obama's plan since the days of Joe the plumber.   Some people seem to think some level of that is good.  I do not happen to agree.

I thought of another question I'd ask Obama.

Mr. President, something needs to be done about the cities that are enriched in American history, that are now laying in ruins.  We have spent trillions of dollars rebuilding other countries and their neighborhoods.  So when they get back would you considering using the resources and services of the National Guard to finally help clean up America?

The news last night said something about North Korea's rocket being launched into space... Mr. President says, if they launch we will blow it up, NK says, them are fighting words.  blow up our rocket and we will go to war.

Um... excuse me Mr. President, you really want another war?  Aren't you supposed to be the peace maker?  Sorry I think you not as smart as you thought you were.  I mean with AIG and all.  Only a dumb ass would give another billions of dollars over to a company that already took billions of dollars to piss away on a few select individuals.  What the hell where you thinking?  How come you didn't listen to the people, the um what 87% of Americans who said "Do not bail them out".

Why are you doing this?  Your not making anything better infact it seems to be getting worse.  You know, I voted for you because everyone around me seemed to confide in you but I feel like I wasted my vote on you.

My mail got stolen today, what do you plan to do about this?s  The creditors, the harass me daily and even make stupid jesters at me and call me a loser for not being able to afford to pay them.  What do you plan to do about this?

Since you became president, nothing has changed. Of course I don't expect a big difference right away but your really not helping.  Thanks for filling people up with false hopes and even bigger future disasters.  I should have voted for my dog, at least my dog is loyal.

Well, I am sorry for being so harsh but I got my mail stolen today so I am a little upset though I would probably call it a blessing since it was only bills anyways.

      Ok I think I will.

I am also mad that my friend who worked really hard to become a teacher, who accumulated an insane amount of debt from college got her pink slip a couple weeks ago.  She worked sooo hard, harder than most people I know because she really believes in education.

She said that you gave California some amount of money for education to keep the teachers on board but the money is being spent on other things and not education while increasing taxes on just about everything.  You do know that right?

You know what upsets her more than that?  She was planning on starting a family soon but she has to put her plans off because she doesn't know what she is going to do.  She deserves a family it is all she ever talks about.

I know that a hundred dollars to you is like enough for a quick snack or something but a hundred dollars to most people is food for a month and you just stripped that extra hundred dollars people have for food to pay for the increase in vehicle registration taxes that were issued starting May 19th.

You must also be aware by now that the cost of rent, not just mortgages in California are outrageous.  It cost more to rent an apartment than it does to buy a home.  Unfortunately because of this credit problem a lot of people who couldn't make their mortgages can't afford an apartment either.  Did you know this?  What do you plan to do about?

You don't make sense Mr. President.  I know money talks so when you said you were gonna help the middle man,  I guess your must have forgotten about the people under the middle men?  You know we work too, we have families too and yet in California I was denied help from the government.

Yes, that is right, I filed for state help a couple of times seeing as though I only bring in about 1200 dollars a month and have a daughter to support and for some reason I was denied.  Apparently 1200 dollars in a state where the average rent is about 1300 a month is not enough to warrant help.  You did know this right?

Sure, sure I know it is not your jurisdiction to dictate what goes on locally but surely there must be something you can do to keep food and a ruff over people heads or is it just the housing market you were concerned with?

I think you should do away with the whole credit system altogether.  You know it wont make a difference when you finally "fix" what has happened because by the time that happens most people will have poor credit and not qualify for a loan anyways... or was that you plan?

Anyways,  I guess I am done for know.  I will probably become a victim of identity theft but that is okay, my identity doesn't mean much anyhow.

Again, sorry to be so harsh on you Mr. President.

My Question to President Barack Obama?
Having grown up in Indonesia and longed for the shores of America and having made a life here after graduating from Harvard with a wife and two children, is America all that your mother dreamed the mainland would be after being abandoned as a two year old child from a Kenyan father.  This is a long question because all is needed is a yes or a no answer.  Is America all you thought it would be as you added voters to the polls on the southside of Chicago and worked in the rundown areas of New York.Is America all you hoped it would be while campaigning tireless because you saw a greater country that needed your leadership?  Is America all you hoped it would be as you made the Presidential oath as the first African American President yet mentioned all Americans in your inaugural speech?  Is America all you hoped it would be as you met the Queen of England and spoke to the Europeans that your America though strong can not solve the world's economic crisis alone.  President Barack Obama are you in agreement with your wife Michelle that it was time for her to stop being the breadwinner and for you to take on the toughest job in America.  I think we all know the answer.  President Barack Obama thank you for representing America in an intelligent and smart light from the darkness of days when Americans were not talking about politics but throwing jokes at former President Bush.  Thank you for helping to remake America. You may answer on one of the ways that you are bringing transparency to the government as a reply on Recovery.gov; a  website set up to keep the now interested American people informed about what is going on with the economy.  Maybe you will find one of my letters in the ten that you read daily to keep up with what is going on with Americans outside of Washington.  When you read your briefing each night from the large black book that the White House staff gives you to read, do not forget that your homework is now for the American people and I for one trust you to be a leader who can turn this country around for the good.

It's good. Gates said yesterday that he's cutting back on some weapons that date back to the cold war period when we believed we needed to be prepared for a conventional land and air war with the Soviet Union. There will be a big fight over this from some of the biggest defense contractors who stand to lose contracts. Gates and Obama and Carl Levin are trying to do the right thing.

American weapons are so far protecting the earth, I think. No one will like to destroy the earth and no weapon can destroy the entire earth. One atom bomb destroyed only about 2 lakh people in Hiroshima; now, it may be more. But can the whole human race, numbering around 7000 millions be destroyed by the number of weapons all the countries possess?

After all, the war which did not see southern Africa, South America, Siberia, and North America is being called "world war".  US went out to fight in Europe and Pacific, but no one entered America. So, even the world war was restricted some specified areas only.

Mainly, its due to dis-information, plus adopting an ideology as an identity and then screaming out a few lame-butt slogans.  Most never go past any surface posturing--and I mean ever, I don't think, in their lives.

There was a better piece on Huffpost than this concerning our modern 'Republican' movement, but I'm not finding it yet.
