It is soooo tempting to bring up Hitler to respond, but that would be a pretty shoddy level of argumentation to do so, so I won't smile (I actually do get your point, all the same...)

I think the underhanded way they dealt with things is similar but Nixon was by far more intelligent.  Bush was a party lackey to carry out big business agendas.

It wasn't really directed at you or anyone else. Someone made a comment about my comments. I supposedly antagonize people with my remarks, well, if someone says something rediculus all I really have to offer is sarcasm. If I see a topic that is just a target for progressives then I point it out.

I vote for who I think will do the best job I don't care what party. I voted for W he was the best choice, he wasn't a great choice, just the best one. I voted for Clinton for the same reason and I didn't vote for Obama for the same reason.

    17. profile image0

look to be fair, i understand what aware is trying to say.  i don't like george w. bush either as i feel he made a lot of reckless choices as the president, that eventually led up to endless war in iraq and putting us into financial debt, thus causing major unemployment across the board.  however, to say he's the biggest moron the country had to endure is pretty much a stretch.

having said that, some of the things that people tend to blame him for, wasn't solely his fault, as he was just there to take the blame.  sure, he's guilty of choosing how to react to the situations, but he hardly caused them.  the katrina incident wasn't Bush's fault, as that was the mayor of new orleans fault.  he did a terrible job evacuating the citizens, and rebuilding it, that he heavily relied on Bush to bail his butt out.  However, the media didn't blame the mayor, they blamed bush.

Then we get to 9/11.  mayor juliani didn't blame or relied on bush to rebuild that city after the tragedy of the terrorists attack.  plus, lets not forget that bill clinton was just as much responsible for that tragedy as bush. the FBI and the CIA, used to share information all the time before Clinton took office.  then once he got elected he stopped that.  hence, why fbi couldn't stop the tragedy in time.  if clinton had not done that, then millions of lives would've been spared on 9/11.  however, since he was trying to save money, look what happened.

Bush is merely a moron for not keeping his personal convictions towards iraq, away from that incident.  he should've just continued to keep our troops in afghanistan, until we found bin laden when he was alive, then make an example of him.  however, because of his arrogance, he took the war to a country that had nothing to do with it.

look, im not defending the man, nor am i putting him down.  just giving credit where credit is due.

Easy to say when it's not your child being dismembered by a stray bomb, however accidentally dropped or off-course. We are so glib on this topic, but if Saddam had been ruling Oklahoma, Shock and Awe would never have been applied.

Saddam was a (formerly-)US-backed monster, as you suggest, but if I am being ruled by a monster, you blowing up my four year old, or blinding him, or making him an amputee, is not going to endear me to you (heck, come to think of it, I might even get on a plane, strap some explosives on me, and walk into a New York subway station in my crazed grief, or join some off-balance vigilante group... mmmmm: funny how seeing your wife or child maimed can turn you against a country, I guess...)

If you believe all that then you have to buy some swamp land I have for sale in Florida.  It was and still is about the oil.  Afghanistan was and is about the oil and gasline from Turkmenistan to Pakistan and India.

Unocal which led a consortium of companies from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Japan and South Korea is not involved in any projects (including pipelines) in Afghanistan, nor do we have any plans to become involved, nor are we discussing any such projects," a spokesman told BBC News Online.

If you believe this then the swampland is still for sale. We don't do anything for nothing.

I'm center-right, and I agree with you, but according to Rachel Maddow, Obama has expanded the Patriot Act.

Have you ever noticed how his eyes always look like he's looking directly into the sun?

I voted for this freak show. Twice.

When you're a president, you don't put your middle finger up when there's a camera infront of you.

Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm the one. Probably the only person in the US who voted for him, and they probably only counted my votes.

This man is an idiot. You know, the first time I voted for him, it was because his last name is Bush. Like .. You know.

This is a better way to look at politics than what they actually are. The United States Congress is like a big kindergarten. "Mr. President! Sarah Palin said I was stupid!"
"Oh, Come on, Joe. She didn't mean it.."
              "YES I DID!"

I did, too, AD. I kinda liked Gore, but I did not like Kerry. In retrospect, I don't care for Algore any longer.

I always thought Gore was like.. this tiny little man who had the mind of a retarded 5 year old. And nooo, Bush was better than Kerry.

I dunno, Misty. I was TV surfing one night and Rachel was ranting against Obama. It really surprised because she was a big BO supporter. She and some guest were talking about under BO, the Patriot Act has expanded, and boy, was she PO'd! I meant to research it, but I haven't. I figured if SHE was saying something negative about Obama, it must be true.
