Welcome!
My name is Rose Mary. I was born in S.C., and lived there until I was almost 30. I was raised very close to a gaggle of aunts, uncles and cousins. My mother and all of my aunts are great Southern cooks. I like to think I’m not so bad myself.
I have been an Occupational Therapist since 1987, almost all of my career in the Air Force. I spent about half of my career doing Pediatric Occupational Therapy, including school-based therapy overseas. The last 6+ years I specialized in hand and upper extremity care. The overwhelming majority of my case load worked at a desk all day, as did I. What I know about the aches and pains, and numbness and tingling associated with driving a desk all day is A LOT! I loved educating clients. I can’t wait to share what I learned from my clients, as well as lessons learned from my own pain. Seems I have a true knack for this stuff, with simple, logical solutions. Let’s let that be our little secret. Don’t want to make those primary care doctors, orthopedist and neurologists defensive!
I retired from the Air Force Feb 2009 after 20 years of service. I was stationed overseas, in Turkey for 3 ½ years and Germany for 3 years. I took pretty good advantage of the travel opportunities. I settled in San Antonio Texas, where I have lived a total of 7 years, having been stationed here twice. I love San Antonio, Texas Hill Country, and Texas coast travel. Of course the food is always one of my favorite parts of travel, in this country or any other!
Since I retired, I’ve had the opportunity to reacquaint with my creative, artsy craftsy side. I discovered mosaics through a friend. I drafted designs in one all-nighter, which turned into Old Glory Designs, several series of patriotic mosaic designs, all reminiscent of the American flag. Check me out at www.oldglorybyvern.etsy.com and www.vernatopia.com .

Thank you again, Rose Mary. Funny thing is that just before I came over to fan you, I found that you had just become my fan! How great is that? I look forward to learning more about you and have a great deal of respect for you. Not many can help others like you can.

Geez, Rose Mary, I thought I was already your fan! Well, I'm remedying that now - happily. By the way, I don't work for HP, I'm a volunteer. :)
