How much information from the past relationships should be used in current or next relationship?
I have been highly influenced from my past. Maybe it is good as I am learning from past mistakes and avoiding to make them again. But this is robbing me of having original and fresh experiences.
An obvious answer would be to strike a balance but I am looking for a more detailed answer as to where to draw the line.
It depends really. You should learn from your past, but also not let it completely dictate everything you expect in your current/future relationships. I have a hard time not being jaded, but I am attempting to overcome it. I can't give you a specific line to use when I don't know your situations, but I would say that not everything was negative from it right? Take the positive, and ignore the negative.
