   Have you ever lied to get out of doing something and got caught? What was it and who caught you?
   
   Would it have been easier just to have done it and gotten it over with?

   I never to that extent and know that is not a good thing to do.I f I did get caught then I would have to tell the truth to get out my mess

   When I was younger, I lied to get out of school often. One time, my Mother caught me skipping school on the train, and she has never let me live that down.
   
   She never took the train, but she had jury duty selection one day (I wasn't aware of that) and got out early due to a emergency in the family (her dad had a heart attack) and she took the train home.
   
   So yes, it would have been better to go to school and sit through a few hours of classes rather than live with the reminder of the pain that I caused her over and over again.

      I think we've all told a few to get out of school, whether it's the sudden belly ache or just skipping school all together.  You're so right about never living it down though, sometimes even if you didn't get caught  it was never really worth it.

   Define "lied"... Fibbed maybe, stretched the truth certainly, but lied, no, no. There have been the rare occasions where I didn't want to attend something and had "an exam coming up, have to study." Or "I'd love to pick up a shift, but I have to take my kid to a ballgame." That one's tricky when you don't have a kid it turns out.
   
   I do weigh the pros and cons before deciding if I'll get out of something. If it would improve my finances, then I'm more willing. If it'll help a grade, I may be game. I never have gotten caught on something like that.

      Ummm I hate to be the bearer of bad news but telling someone you have to take your kid to a ballgame when you don't have one would probably be construed as a lie with most people.  I'm glad you never got caught because it's really embarrassing.

   Of course! Who hasn't? Anyone that says they never have is lying. I've called in sick when I wanted to get out of work. My boss caught me cause grandma can only die so many times. I've lied about being sick so I didn't have to go to weddings or funerals or relatives. My significant other caught me because she knew I was going to lie before I even lied. How many people do we know when pulled over by an officer said, " I only had 2!" They were trying to get out of all kinds of stuff with that one.
        You know, I caught someone lying on Hubpages once. Like we know who they are. I'll have to check to see if they changed their profile. See, that picture is actually me. Ooops! I lied!
