No, Absolutely not. Anyone can tell you want you want to hear and make you believe it because they are hiding behind a screen. It is hard enough to really know someone you are really dating, let along someone you have no idea about their true motives.

    I wouldn't because I'm very happily married--we met at a football game.

But I'm glad my sister did. After an extremely messy divorce, she met her soul mate (truly) on Match.com. I can't think of a better man for her.

Yes! It's not where you meet but whom you meet that counts. Just use some commonsense when dealing with any stranger. It's been reported that 1 in 5 relationships today begin with online dating websites. I'm willing to bet in 20 years or less those numbers will double. Awhile back people were reluctant to use their credit cards online. Today just about everyone has purchased something through Amazon, booked a hotel, or paid for airline tickets using their credit cards. Not long ago I wrote a hub on the 6 mistakes most women make with online dating. Men make the same mistakes. No matter how you meet someone it comes back to you and your choices. You get to choose who you spend your time with. Be selective! http://dashingscorpio.hubpages.com/hub/ … ine-Dating

Call me old fashioned, but I'm glad I met my man in the flesh. What's the point in getting to know someone online, and that can take quite a while, plucking up the courage to meet him, and that does take some courage because you don't know what kind of weirdo he could turn out to be, only to find, when you finally do meet him, that he looks 30 years older than his avatar, stinks of BO and bad breath, wears a wig, limps because he's got a club foot and talks with a screechy voice. Of course he didn't tell you about all that online, because he knew you wouldn't have wanted to know!

I met my now-wife on OK Cupid.  We exchanged a couple emails, progressed to texts/phone calls and met less than a month later.  Now we've been together for almost 2 years, and we just got married in September.  Meeting her was one of the best things to ever happen to me, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
