   Do you believe that as like attracts like in terms of relationships, highly successful, educated, &
   
   wealthy men are going to ONLY attracted to highly successful, educated, & wealthy women, believing that these women won't be intellectual & socioeconomic drains to them as the latter are bringing something to the relationship table?  In light of this question, why do some poorer women with NOTHING TO OFFER, especially socioeconomically, want to enter into a  relationship w/such men, knowing that their chances of a relationship are 1:10,000 or higher?  Don't poorer women realize that highly successful, educated, & wealthy men despise them & only want to use them?

   I believe that how we think and to a degree how we feel are components of how we were raised and basic instincts. A highly successful man or woman may be attracted to another highly successful man or woman because they believe they will be less of a drain on resources, compatible intellectually, etc.  However, this need not be the case. One can look to instances in the past where wealthy merchant wanted to marry "titled" individuals who were down on their luck for the sole reason that they would inherit a title such as lord, duke, duchess, etc. The marriage to a poor title individual may not have helped economically in anyway.  However, if one likes titles they could be attracted to that. Many rich and powerful people may marry others in their social sphere, but really be attracted to those they believe are beneath them because they like power and control.  Which is why they may have affairs all over the place. As for the general assumption that successful wealthy men will despise a woman from a poorer background that is a blanket assumption. People fall in love all the time and do not care for social, economic, racial, etc differences. Additionally, sometimes relationships are not for the couple themselves.  Remember a couple decades age mail order brides were quite the trend.  Many women from poorer countries were willing to marry men they never met.  Many successful men were willing to marry men they hardly knew.  For the women, many times they did not know if the marriage would be happy or not, however, the idea that if she had children that they would grow up in a land of more opportunity rather than with a man in their poor country was worth it. Therefore, one can coax themselves to be attracted to people they might not otherwise find an attraction for.

      However, rich men want poor women for ONLY one thing.  I shan't go into detail here -let's keep it clean.  Rich men DON'T respect poor women but see them as disposable, momentary tools. Rich men DON'T marry poor women.

   Highly successful, educated, & wealthy men want women of their equal standing.  They want women who can bring something to the table educationally, intellectually, & most of all, socioeconomically.  They want women who they can spar with.  They also want women who are considered to be assets.
   
   To be realistic here, poor women aren't viewed as viable assets but as  liabilities to highly successful, educated, & wealthy men.  Highly successful, educated, & wealthy men, especially self-made ones, view poor women as socioeconomic vampires who are out for their money as the latter have nothing of value to add to the relationship.  Such men are highly savvy & are aware of the pitfalls of entering into a relationship w/poor women.  They furthermore believe that if they enter into a relationship w/poor women, they have everything to lose while poor women have everything to gain.
   
   If highly successful, educated, & wealthy men enter into a relationship w/poor women, it will be merely a dalliance w/no strings attached.  These men aren't about to lose everything they worked for & gained.  They also aren't about to lose their stellar, hard-earned reputation by being in a relationship w/poor women.  Such men want women who are considered to be assets, not liabilities which poor women definitely...ARE.
