What Is Spiritual Life - How Can I Lead a Spiritual Life

We all heard about spiritual life. What is spiritual life? Spiritual life is a life that connected with the human spirit, rather than the body or physical things. Spiritual has another meaning also. That is "connected with religion". We are not talking about religion.

A man born on this earth has two life which goes together. When he leads a physical life, the spiritual life goes along with it. Many of them understand this. But very few find the true meaning of spiritual life and enjoy it.

The physical body is in constant need. There are three things that guide the physical body. Girl, Gold, and Glory. Sexual drive is the first and foremost thing that drives a man. As a child grows he becomes physically active and wanted to fulfill his desire of the body. He does many things to fulfill this desire. Then comes the Money part. To lead a healthy and wealthy life we need money. To earn or generate money we do many things. The main focus of our actions leads to gaining money. Then comes the Glory part. We wanted to be appreciated by our fellow beings. The main focus and related actions are mostly aimed at gaining these three things i.e. girl, gold and glory of an ordinary man.

In order to lead a good spiritual life, it is important that physical needs are to be met. A good family and nice income and good reputation in the society will fulfill this requirement. A good wife can fulfill your sexual desire. When he goes more of it outside the marriage leads to conflicts and leads to unhappiness. Likewise, income generated through legal and genuine source is good and it will give happiness. When someone uses illegal methods to earn money, it leads to unhappiness and unpleasant events. That is the way through which the sorrow enters into the lives of human beings.

For gaining spiritual growth one should not abstain from all these things. No need to live a solitude life. I am not forgetting that while abstaining all these physical things many enjoyed the spiritual life. But more fulfilling is to lead a spiritual life while enjoying all those things which are made for us.

The desire to attaining more than enough for the physical needs leads to spiritual emptiness. Human beings are designed to lead a balanced spiritual and physical life.

We give more priority to our physical growth and we ignore the spiritual growth. Learning about God and following rituals are mandatory in many homes around the world. Most of the people belonging to a religion and learn spiritual matters in their early age though spiritual institutions.

These efforts are good and helpful to learn about spiritual matters. As long as they teach the spiritual matters, they learn. But after their studies, they do the rituals and forget to implement that spiritual truth in their daily life.

Spiritual growth starts with the self-desire to grow. Self-desire to correct oneself is the core of spiritual growth. A constant endeavor to correct self-behavior is the basic need of the spiritual growth. Discipline is required to get the highest state of spiritual life. All people in this world are spiritual because there is a spirit that living in us. But the realization is different. One who is living a worldly life does not know about his spiritual part. The level of spirituality in people those who consider themselves spiritual is also different. Some are highly spiritual who sees visions and talk to God.

You can gain spiritual knowledge through the direct revelation from the source of spirit ( you may call it God, creator, omnipotent or omnipresent etc.) or you can learn it from the one who received these truths from God and pass it on to us. Jesus and Moses are examples of such persons who received spiritual knowledge from God and pass it on to us. Jesus taught us a good number of principles which we can adopt and practice in our daily life to grow spiritually.

You don't have to go to the forest or a lonely place to attain spiritual wisdom. It is available in the calmness of your living room or your backyard of your house. No need to visit a church or a holy place. It is available for everyone those who desire for it. We know about the first person who attained full spiritual growth. Enoch! Walking in close fellowship with God. He was the first know person who attained full spiritual growth. He was having a wife and children. He was leading a normal life. Still, he maintained fellowship with God. That means he lead a fulfilling physical and spiritual life together. We have a spirit within us. It wants to walk along with the creator. It always wants to do right. But our physical needs and ambitions keep us away from the truth and justice. Our physical surroundings are a source to mold us to become spiritual. Surroundings will provoke you to turn to the physical world.

When you lead a spiritual life, others will start to take undue advantage from you. Which may cause you to think over continuing your spiritual life. That is the testing time. Many will fall away and do what the world does as majority leads a physical life. You may think "How foolish I am to follow these teachings of the spirit". Do not give up. (Don't worry, the spiritual life will compensate all those loses at the due time.) That is the time of testing. A time will come people started to respect you and stop taking undue advantage from you. People throng around you for advice and guidance. But this state of spiritual life is available to only those who are willing to correct themselves and lead a steady growth in different areas of their life. You need to control your physical desires.

To lead a spiritual life, Self-awareness is required. Constantly we need to watch our thoughts and actions and control it. Our thoughts and actions may divert us from the spiritual path and go to the physical path.

Spiritual growth means attaining oneness with God, The creator. The creator created us to lead a fulfilling life while knowing his desires for us. There are two kinds of spirits. One is an evil spirit which leads us in the direction of physical pleasures and makes us do evil things. It is an easy life. If we follow that spirit, it will lead us into sorrowful events.

The good spirit wants you to do good. It asks you to do good. Spiritual life seems very tough for those who do evil. But it is the easiest life. If you learn to do the just and right thing, it is very easy. Do not do evil when you come under the peer pressure or majority pressure. Forgive others, do not lie, do not murder, do not cheat these are some examples of the advice of good spirit. We need to improve the different areas of our life. When we improve our life as per the requirement of spirit, the creator will start to communicate with the spirit within you.

We know Enoch enjoyed a good relationship with the Creator. Noah also enjoyed a good relationship with the creator. Then we know about Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Daniel. They all had a spiritual side in their physical life and communicated with the creator through visions, dreams and sounds. Spending time in meditation is a good way to communicate with the Creator. When you close the physical eyes, your spiritual eyes will open. Waiting for the spirit is practiced over the years. We know about the descending of the Holy Spirit at the Pentecost where 120 people were praying and waiting for the spirit. Read the bible and meditate or think on it in a secluded place is a good way to have some spiritual experience.

When we grow and ready to receive the message from the creator, the Creator will communicate with us. Ordinary people will see visions, signs and dreams, hear sounds of the creator. And will do mighty things under the direction of the Creator.

Even in this modern age, there are people who constantly communicate with God. Prophets are there who receive a message directly from the creator. They do this communication to warn people from the upcoming danger so that ordinary people can escape from it. They guide people to the way they should go which will build their faith in the creator and help them to lead a peaceful life. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months, it did not rain on the earth. Ordinary people can do the mighty thing to turn others from the evil ways.

Evil spirits are also there. Many people are able to communicate with the evil spirit. They use the evil spirit to do harm to others. It is a dangerous thing to have fellowship with an evil spirit. Eventually, they will guide you to your destruction.

But the good spirit will not do any harm to people. If it does, it is for the right purpose of guiding and leading them on the right path and keep them away so that they do not do any harm to good people. If you are tormented by an evil spirit, you need to go to a person how enjoys good relationships with the good spirit as the victory always belongs to the good spirit. Evils spirits cannot do any harm to people who enjoy a good relationship with good spirit. The good spirit leads and guides us on the right path.

Why there is no faith in the Spirit?

Many are not able to correct their ways and lead a spiritual life. And those who are not able to experience the spirit will say that there is no such spirit and laugh at those who enjoy spiritual life. But those who experience the spirit knows what is a spiritual life all about.
