Have you ever experienced a miracle?

A lot of people on here have told me they believe in a God because they have witnessed miracles. To be honest I don't believe in miracles (for example, an actual miracle would be something like wiping out world hunger overnight or curing everyone with cancer in 1 day), but since so many people insist they have experienced them, I am interested. Have you ever witnessed a miracle, and if so, what was it? Ho do you define "miracle"?

All the time, mostly via persistence. :-)

I am sure there will be plenty of people who don't believe this, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Once, I was driving in upstate New York during a snow storm. My dash lights went out for about 5 seconds. They had never done that before. The loss of lighting caused me to slow down a bit to investigate. I didn't find anything, but they came back on after a few seconds by themselves. As a result, I started to accelerate. Almost instantly I seen the miracle. There were a herd of deer (at least 6-8) that had just crossed the road. The last one's tail was leaving the shoulder as I passed. If those lights had not gone out, I would have almost certainly hit those deer and been stranded 20 miles from the city in a snow storm. I was in a very isolated region. Want the real kicker? I owned that car for 2 years afterwards and the lights never went out once after that night. There have been other occurrences, but that is the only one that I am sure of was a miracle.

TheLifeExperiment - I will have to write a couple of hubs about some of the most recent miracles I have witnessed: One while serving in a women's prison ministry, where He showed up mightly and multiplied the fish - in a different sense, and Two, last year He healed me of DCIS Breast Cancer, just like that.  It was there and then it was gone, and the doctors were all baffled.  So, I better get writing.  Faith Reaper

I 2005  I flipped my SUV.  I started flipping on the interstate, then a 10' drop into trees,  All I remember is trying to regain control then every thing felt like it slowed down I let go of the steering wheel, I gave up.  It felt like a tilt-a-whirl, fortunately the policed arrived quickly.  The Montero Sport did not have a tire are rim, the vehicle was crushed, the only place to live was on the driver side floor under the steering wheel this is where the police cut me out.     I woke up in the hospital a different person, I wanted to make some changes to better myself, I wanted to embrace life, I wanted  live everyday like it is my last.  In my heart I know I had help that night I was given another chance.

Most Christians have experienced miracles in their lives from time to time. I have, and there were several that prevented death or injury and even promoted my success in certain activities in which I have participated. It makes no difference what religion you may belong to or not any at all, miracles can be life changing and saving. There have been hundreds of personal testimonies that could not be disproved that were extremely miraculous in nature, and I am blessed to be a witness and believer in those that I have seen and read about. Most of the time it all depends upon whether a person is open minded or stubborn, and adamant about things that are only seen by themselves first hand and with tons of proof. The greatest testimony of any that I know about are those of Christ Jesus and there were so many, the printed pages could not hold them all.
