    Why did the God of Moses live in a tent and avoided coming out openly in front of the Jews?

    Most of the so called Gods mentioned in all religious texts communicated through agents. Does it mean that they were not really Gods but human beings pretending to be so?

    God, from the Bible, does not come out before the people because his perfection would kill sinful humans. It is not that he wants to harm us, but just as light eliminates darkness, so God's goodness destroys our sinfulness.

    This is why Jesus had to come and die for our sins.

    As for the description of your question, it is very "SG-1" (tv show) in description. There were very few "gods" throughout history who were ever seen by men - such as the Egyptian Pharaoh. Most of the "gods" were, as God of the Bible, experienced, felt, and seen by a few.

    I believe, with every edge of humanity having some view of a "god", there must be something more.
