   David Blaine levitated. How did he do it?
   
   people say that magic is only a trick and it can be explained. Here's a question: David Blaine is a magician that randomly goes around the street doing magic. Now, there was an episode where he levitated in front of the public. Can you explain that? (photo not mine)

   This is called the Balducci Levitation trick. It is an illusion that can be done most anywhere and at any time. There are no wires, strings, rigs, or camera tricks.
   
   It is based on angles. You must practice the right angle over and over to get used to doing it. If your angle is off the illusion is blown.
   
   Stand 10 feet away from your audience at a 45 degree backward angle. Pause then with your left foot straight push down with the pad and toes of your right foot. It will seem to them that you are floating in the air an inch to three inches of the ground.
   
   I believe Blain like other magicians spends money on his tricks. He may have a mirror lift in one of the shoes he wears which can be activated to create the illusion.
   
   I know Cris Angels walk on water trick and his floating over a road from a tall building trick are nothing more than special none glare plexy glass and microfiber tricks.
   
   The real skill these men have is the ability to make people believe that what they are seeing is real magic and the ability using language both body and oral to get the person to suspend their own biasness and to believe what they think they are seeing.

      Interesting, it may be possible but how many inches do you think Blaine floated? And if there were any mirror lift in his shoes, which part would he hide it?

      Joniah2884 I believe the lift is an apparatus hidden in the sole of his shoes. An easy modification with a hidden switch he can use a air bladder and the sole of the shoe separates from the rest of the shoe. It is an illusion and a good one.

   The photograph is a bit unclear. It's very difficult to see how far he is above the pavement.
   
   But as children of God, we were created in His image. In other words, we have His power of creation.
   
   That's why Peter the fisherman could walk on water for a few moments before doubt set in.
   
   Even the slightest doubt spoils the creation. Creation is either "on" or "off." You either have perfect faith or imperfect faith. Levitation of inches, feet, yards or even miles can be accomplished with faith. Nothing is impossible for the true self -- the sleeping immortal, within. All you need to do is to awaken the true self, and eliminate the ego.

   David Blane is a magician not a psychic or levitator, he fools you into believing he can do things.
