What is your interpretation of this Scripture? (1Tim 5/8)

What is your interpretation of 1Timothy 5, verse 8.. "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."

This is a call and ecouragement to Trust God and not let go

The " he hath denied the faith" is the key.Lack of Faith is the reason he is not providing for his house hold. God looks after his children and in the same manner we as believers are to throw our selves onto Gods promise to provide for us even if its work.
If there is no work especially now, and God will provide with "Hidden Manna"

Re:2:17: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Infidel means "apistos" ......unfaithful, faithless, not to be trusted, perfidious.

Hi, the context of this text must be taken into consideration before you can see what is meant by the statement.  This is Paul writing to his son Timothy with regards to raising a spiritual household. The N.T believers understood this context because they did not conform to institutionalized church with large congregations.  The "Called Out" was headed up by a spiritual father and produced spiritual sons through discipleship, bringing them into spiritual maturity as the Holy Spirit added to them.  You will find this similar context in Acts when the Apostles delegated the feeding of tables to other mature men while they continued in prayer and studying the Word.  These households would have variety of people all at different stages of their spiritual journey and in numbers that can be shepherded and managed. This particular verse is dealing with widows of the household, the conditions for this widow to receive any form of financial gain is found from vs 3 -10  of the same chapter. This verse is then implying that should this widow fit the critrea as stated then she should not only receive spiritual food but also money to help her in her old age. Verses 8 is a charge agianst those households that do not honor this code.  This order by the way is the Culture of the Kingdom of which I believe is the current season of God the Father, read some of my hubpages on this subject.
