   If I was in the right place, at the right time and the opportunity presented itself... yes I would risk my life to save the life of a random stranger.

   Yes!  We art ever giving unto strangers.  The risk of our life is not as important than serving others.  That is the purpose of our life.

   I am not sure I can answer this until an event puts me in the place. My immediate response is yes but depending on the situation is it possible I will freeze in fear..... Yes, that could very well happen. I've never been in that kind of situation. Based on how I respond to other situations, I would most likely without even thinking about it. I am one of those people who has to force themselves to say no to people while the entire time feeling the bile rise. Its a second nature. BUT like I said- I don't know how I would react to a gun going off or to hieghts since I do not care for them in the first. I hope yes. Standing by and watching others suffer causes me to suffer in a way that death would be a blessing. On the other hand- no. I hope that I am smart enough to recognize if someone else is better qualified to help then me. If I know the person standing next to me is a fire fighter, smart thing is to let them run into the burning for the child. Otherwise I might put them in a place where they have to chose saving me or the child.
   *Sigh* Who knows until it happens?
