I'm a Stay-at-Home Mom with 6 kids. Yes, I know that sounds crazy to some people, and years ago had you told me this is where I'd be, I'd have peed myself from laughing so hard!
This is the direction life has taken me though and I couldn't be happier. I've been married for 15 years and am loving life (for the most part) with my soul mate. Yes, there are days I'm ready to strangle my dear sweet hubby, but most days I just want to wrap my arms around him and smother him in kisses. We've learned a lot over our years together (mostly by trial and error). If you want to know how to make your relationship stronger, check out my relationship articles:

Having an Emotional Affair?
We also have had our financial struggles in this economy, some of which are detailed on my blog: The Juggling Homemaker. We've made it through a lot and I'm happy to share what I've learned about saving money, making money (still working on that one! Haha!), the ins and outs of credit and even the mortgage modification process.
Right now our goal is to be more self-sufficient. It's exhausting and stressful to be at the mercy of an unstable economy. So besides the home garden, canning and preserving and those types of things, we've also jumped into the world of raising chickens! I'll share what we learn along the way:

I've been writing for longer than I can remember (starting with those picture books I made to sell to the neighbors before I knew how to spell) and I plan to write even more until I die. It's an itch I just have to scratch!
I love to research just about anything and learn new things. I confess that I don't even come close to knowing everything, but that doesn't mean I won't die trying! If I can help someone with what I've figured out, I'm happy to share those experiences.
I look forward to navigating my way through another experience. I think I've found a community here that I thoroughly enjoy being a part of :)
P.S. I won the HubNuggets Award during the Christmas week 2010 for my article The Homeless Dilema! Be sure to check out more of my stuff and let me know you stopped by in the comments. I love to hear what others think, even when they don't agree with me ;-)

Raising chickens isn't just for country folk anymore. City residents have jumped into this hobby for eggs, meat and show, but is it for you?

Lindsay's father has a drinking problem. She's conflicted over the love and anger she feels for him. After another big disappointment, she makes a decision she soon regrets.
