HubPages introduces Simone Smith
HubPages's newest staff member answers our questions
Based on how I answered the first question, I bet you won't be surprised to know that I love reading about new trends and developments- especially those related to society and technology. I'm really getting into a lot of near-future novels and science fiction books, as authors of those genres are trend spotters in their own right. I also love Regency-era fiction, horrid chick lit, biographies, how-to guides, collections of essays, and all sorts of academic books- be they about science, politics, economics, history, anthropology, or business. Really though, I'll read anything so long as it's not dreadfully depressing. Whenever I go to the library, I can't help but emerge with my arms overloaded with the most random books imaginable (I am currently working my way through The History of Tartan).
When I first visited HubPages, my mind exploded a bit. Seriously... bits of gray matter started dripping from my ears. There is so much here to explore!! I felt as though I was standing in front of a mile-long buffet, and I cursed my pitiful brain for not being able to devour each and every delicious Hub in one sitting.
For the most part I've been following Hubbers whom I have met in person or via email- as well as Hubbers whose articles I like. I'm so new to HubPages that I have yet to become a fan of anyone in particular. I am still overwhelmed by the entire community!
I think that online publishing and online interaction form the core of our future. Already, online publishing has revolutionized the way so many of us share and receive information. Those lucky enough to live in a place where little information is banned have experienced unprecedented democratization with regard to opinion and information sharing. Already, I find it strange to think that most people got all of their news from only a handfull of sources. How terrifying!

This Week's HubNuggets
This week's HubNuggets adventure (courtesy of Patty Inglish, MS) took us across time and space to Pensacola Grace Hospital in the year 2020. The operating room was a scene of orchestrated chaos where aggressive interns and rogue suction hoses wreaked havoc before visiting rotations of HubNuggets Wannabes. Was their knowledge of pets, business, and entertainment of any avail? Alas, the Mirror Crack'd swallowed up our protagonists too soon to tell, but that doesn't mean you cannot enjoy the sterling quality of this week's winners!

Why do I need to be organized at all? Well, I’ve learned that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well. I don't want to spend all of my time re-tracing my steps because I’ve lost something. I don’t want to have to re-do work that I’ve already spent a lot of time on.
