My dog mewls at someone other than his family, and by mewl I mean he won't howl, but he'll croon. Y?

My house is undergoing minor construction, and everyone is miserable. My dog has taken to crooning to one of my dad's friends that helps out when he enters and leaves the property. Normally, he only mewls when he hears a family member about to enter the house but I can't help but feel as though it's some sort of familial betrayal. My dad's friend has given him food so I assume that's also part of the problem, but could there be any particular reason why a dog would sit at a construction area and mewl, or croon, to someone working?s

dogs normally do this to greet dominant personnas. Id say the person your talking about has a dominant personality, knows how to act like a top dog, knows how to treat and train dogs. Dont be offended by it become the top dog and your dog wont have to search elsewhere for the stability of a top dog. Dogs desire and need a pack leader and if there not provided with one by you they will either look elsewhere if they are a naturally submissive dog or they will become the pack leader themselves
