That is a good question I named my dog after kraft dinner. I am not really sure why, but I thought it suited her at the time. her name is Kadie or KD.
She is named after the Lakota Sioux tribe. I'm in interested in Native American history and cultures. I've always admired the Lakota Sioux nation.
We have two dogs. One is a Shih Tzu female and one is a male Yorkie. The Shih Tzu came to live with us at three months old after we lost a previous one who was eight years old and was basically killed by the vet who destroyed her trachea during a teeth cleaning session. Her name was Lexi B Luv and we cried like babies when we lost her. About four months later, we found another puppy and had to have her. We named her after an old west star, Calamity Jane because she seemed proned to get into everything and turn it into a calamity of sorts. We call her "Callie". Six months later, a friend who raised Yorkies gave us a little male Yorkie who was born with a hernia. We waited until he was four months old and had that repaired. We named him after Johnny Cash because at the time, he was "the man in black". We call him "Cash" or "Cash Money" most of the time. He is a real dude and thinks he's a big dog! We call 'em "Cash & Callie" and I tell everyone we named them after a Chinese Quik Mart....get it "Cash 'n Callie". Anyway that's the way it went down! WB
