when I was teaching in the 90s, we bought some duck eggs specifically for the class to hatch.  The supplier told us that we must not help the duckling hatch, it will not survive; we had ten eggs, 2 died.  Leave it alone, it will either hatch and live, or it is already dead; it is the way of Mother Nature I'm afraid.

MickS is right.  It is best left alone.

leave the egg until 28 days. You can help them to peel the shell step by step. If the duck move, you can assist the duck. Also read my hubs http://hubpages.com/hub/hatch-duck-eggs

Please do not help the baby duck hatch. This will do more harm than good.
