There are some epoxy coatings that are not too expensive to paint the cement with. Did one last year on a job of mine , came out nice.
Calendula from your local natural foods store will help heal your pup's paws nicely.
"Liquid bandage" (that may not be the exact brand name) from the drugstore. I use it when a band-aid doesn't work. But, warning -- it stings briefly at first. You paint it on with the little brush supplied, and It makes a coating over a wound.
