Why does a cat wiggle his tail when he's about to strike his prey?
It is more obvious when a cat is striking from cover.
It is probably just an expression of mood. Like dogs, cats express themselves through body language and there are various different kinds of tail wag. The one you speak of is the playful mood.
its both a mood reaction and a warning tot he prey or the things that are her target.
