Throughout your life, what breed of dog would you say...
is the most faithful as a friend and companion?
For me its been a long haired border collie. The Lassie type dog who let my kids ride, stride, and never got cross with them as long as we had him for appoximately 15 years. They are very easy to keep, love to bathe with whoever's in the tub, won't bark a lot unless they think there is a danger present, and as long as you love on them they will retaliate by showing you a lot of love. Very easy to potty train too. THE one drawback I found is any rubber ball is not safe when there's a collie around, he even chewed my prized baseball, so dern dog!!
Hmmm. Hard to pick the best one. Dobermans possibly. They are certainly up there in the "Velcro-dog" category.
For me it was a mongrel we had (rough collie x retriever), he died aged 17. He was very faithful, loyal and a great companion.
However, saying that I think any dog can be a faithful friend and companion providing you give it enough love, train it and treat it with respect.
