    What is the best type of cat to get/adopt? Why?

    I want to get a cat and would like some opinions on what kind is best!

    Some think a purebred cat is best.. Go to several cat breeders or catteries  and ask lots of questions about personalities,health concerns and history. Also check the cat Fanciers of America and go to cat shows.
    if you want a pet,so to a shelter and adopt one.They make great pets and will be so grateful.
    I personally like the domestic longhair and like one with some personality.

    Thank you Stacie! I think we will most likely end up adopting a shelter or barn cat. I too want a kitty with a big personality - the more they act like lapdogs the better! smile

    I was wondering though if a longhair will not be good for us as we have lots of allergies already! Any thoughts?
