Depends on what I need the dog trained for. I own Four dogs. All have been trained but only one recieved extensive training. For her we have paid well over $4000 in training over 10 years. The others I paid a basic $250 for basic training.
Each class we take comes out to about $150-$180 per 5-7 sessions. All of the classes we've taken (ranging from basic obedience, to intro to agility, to attention) were group classes.
I would assume it varies based on where you live, privates vs. group, basic or specialized, etc.
Considering the average price for that work here in Brazil. I think the value could not be more than U$ 35 per session.
Why pay to train? Do it yourself and get more out of it. read more
For a good trainer that knows what they are doing I would pay to have my dog balanced and happy. They must be able to train the owner more than the dog.
