I adopted a mutt from a local shelter that lived for 19 loving years. Most mixed breeds seem to live longer.
I had a Shar-pei that lived to be 12 and a Chesapeake Lab that lived to be 16. It depends on the dog breed. Small dogs will generally live longer than large dogs.
Most dogs live about 14 to 16 years. You can make out a dog death certificate.
Dogs lifespan may vary with the Breed of dogs, but I know from experience majority of dogs no matter the breed, they can live up to 10 years with proper care and diet management. Dogs are like Humans, if they come down with a lifestyle disease or genetic terminal disease, their lifespan is significantly reduced. I know losing a pet is one of most disturbing events in Pet Ownership, but we should ensure we take the best care of our best friends to help them live a longer, healthier and happy long lifespan. I hope that helps or somewhat answers your question
Dog life spans are connected to their size. Some of the largest sized dogs will only live to be 9-10 years old. The smaller dogs live longer and when I worked at a vets, I saw a 25 year old poodle. She was well babied and taken care of . That is a very old dog even for that breed. Average for the smaller dogs is 14-18 years. I have had a German Shepherd, Dachsund, and a mixed breed all live to be 15. This is for a well taken care of dog.
I'm going to go ahead and add this: Dogs don't live long enough.
If you take good card of your dog, he will have a longer life span. Be sure he has a quality pet bed for his joints. Be sure he gets plenty of exercise. Most of all give him all the love you can.

If you knew you'd survive to be 105 years old, would you take more chances?I think I would. (Keep in mind, you've got to grant the premise, assuming this knowledge is guaranteed accurate somehow).
