When you have to go away for a few nights, who has the longer list of instructions? Pet or children!

Is it your children or your pet that ends up having a page of instruction left behind covering every topic possible for the care taker who is going to look after them.

Your question made me chuckle. I'm a senior citizen, so there are no children living with me. However, my dog (nine years old and blind) requires a lot of special attention, including medication. I jokingly remark that she's a full-time job! Fortunately, I'm retired and stay at home most of the time. My son recently suggested that I compile a list of instructions for her care "just in case", and this reminds me that it is on my 'to do' list. It will definitely be a full page.  Thanks for the reminder.

hi JayeWisdom, good move on your part starting on that list. smile  It can be the small important things you forget to add to it.

I would say that the sitter does. He/she has the instructions for the pet(s) plus the children.

      Ya, that can be true.

My sweet spoiled Schnauzer, Baby, keeps me home most of the time cause I don't trust anyone to care for her unless it is a family member.  I have never left her in a kennel to be boarded, either!
If I had to leave her with a new caregiver, I would certainly make a list of detailed instructions.

Hi mary615, good point.  I think getting your family to look after them is usually better as they are more vested in the emotional well being of pet.
