Why would a 5mo old imprinted male wild wood duck fly away?
had good clean bedding, food, pool and most of all love and seemed happy. done this before at night and came back next morning. this time he's been gone since 9am yesterday.
Andrea, sorry to hear about your duck. Many ducks will fly away and never come back, no matter what you provide. They are very different than chickens, guinea fowl, geese, etc.
If your duck does come back, and you really want him to stay, you have to clip the wings. I prefer to do just one side, so that they can still lift off and escape from predators, but will never fly off like a duck with intact wings.

When you fly, will you opt out of the full body x-ray scan? If so, why? If not, why? This goes beyond the day-before-Thanksgiving-boycotting. It seems to be being put in place for the long term. And many of our 'senior politicians' don't have to go through it. Repeated...
