Dogs are not Following Protocols.

They are not wearing masks and they are sniffing each other within six feet. Dogs are not catching a virus which was originally going after animals. The CV 19 virus is apparently avoiding the bodies/bloodstreams of our pets, in general.
    Scientifically speaking ...
    How come?

Maybe because their owners haven't infected them. There have been few cases that we know of in animals. So far, every case I've read about in animals has been started through human transmission to the animals at zoos. So far it's been big cats, and in one case, a gorilla. I haven't seen any followup on the condition of the animals. I wonder why. I haven't heard of any cases of covid in canines.

I haven't seen any thing published about pets that might have contacted covid from their owners. But if one infected animal got with other animals, like at a dog park, it might spread through them as rapidly as it does through humans. The same goes for feral cat prides, but most feral cats have little chance of human contact.
When I come home from anywhere, my two cats greet me at the door. I greet them back verbally, but before I touch them, I head straight for the bathroom and scrub my hands with an antibacterial soap. I worry about things like that and don't want to inadvertently bring covid home to them.
You've made me curious and I looked it up. There have been cases of covid in dogs. This website has a chart of how many cases have been found in animals in the U.S. and which animals are infected.
