I know many pet owners buy their pet a Christmas gift or two every year.
I have been guilty of this in the past.
Is it silly to give your pet s gift?
Are you giving your pet a gift this year?
My kitten is probably getting de-clawed for Christmas.
but he's still my baby.
My two babies get brand new tennis balls in their stockings. The old ones just wear out, or I run over them with the lawn mower. They each have their stocking with their name on it, too.
I remember my parents doing that when I was a kid. A pleasant memory.
I give gift bags to my two Great Danes and to my "grandpups" - Kayla, a Great Dane; Dooley, an English bulldog; and Kaiya, a chocolate lab. In the gift bags are toys, chews, and doggie treats.
With 3 cats I usually get 3 goodie bags filled with catnip stuffed mice, littler toys that tweet and chirp and a few jingle balls to bat around. They spend about 4 minutes playing with those and the next 20 minutes playing with the bags they came in.
Every year I roast a huge turkey for my family. Everybody will be at it as much as he/she wants, including my cats and they know that very well! They LOVE turkey! I buy it beforehand on a sale, so I do not have to spend a lot. Some people even manage to get a free turkey in Toronto, but you really have to know where and how.
I don't believe I have to Buy my Pets any pressies, especially since I taught them that the messy people down the road are really just leaving their stuff on the front lawn, to show them (my pets) that they (the messy ones) have finished using them! - (the toys on the lawn)..
Now my Clown Loach Fish simply rides down the road on the Cat's back and chooses whatever they need!
We are really into recycling where live and sometimes it is taken so seriously that even the Dogs check through our garbage.. just to make sure we don't waste anything!
