Grown up gifts and toys for older fun. Would you buy a Barbie doll for a gift?

Gifts, I feel need to be an expression of fun and nothing spells fun to me more than a Barbie doll yet I never think of that for a gift. Would you buy or have you purchase a Barbie doll for a gift? If so, under what circumstance? Was it for a child? Or for a child-like adult?

I would definitely buy a Barbie-doll for a gift if the person I was buying for wanted one. I would buy it both for a kid and an adult. After all, a lot of adult collect toys or other dolls and if I had a friend who had a fondness for Barbies I think it would be fun to give them one for their birthday.

I don't talk about dolls and childhood delights with my friends so sadly I never know what would spark their interest. Barbie would a memorable gift.

I might, If the person was a collector or as a gag gift. I would personally choose the more, anatomically correct, "Lammily" Doll. Something for someone that has everything!

I would buy a Barbie (or for a boy - an action figure) for both kids and adults. Buy for the kids to play with. But I know adults who collect Barbie dolls and would buy them for those people. I've also bought the larger "action figures" - such as GI Joes - for some men I know.

I don't know any adult collectors. The GI Joes are a great suggestion. Men are often more difficult to buy for.

I've bought many Barbie dolls as gifts--but only if the child is interested already in playing with those kinds of dolls. Barbie--
one of my favorite all time toys as a kid.

We purchased several Barbie's for children's gifts this year. I have yet to buy one for an adult gift but there is always next holiday season.
