Crochet granny square mini gift bag
I have never tried gifting a teenager a "proper" gift. The dresses which I buy for my teenage nieces is either out of fashion, doesn't fit properly or not very cool!!!
My favorite niece is very specific about her choice of gift, somehow I am never able to find what she asks me for gift. I am not much in favor of gift cards a because personally I think that they lack the " personal touch" , since my niece stays in a different state psi the idea of taking her with me to buy her a gift is out of question. This year when her birthday was approaching, I was again in confusion with the gift When just then my husband came to my rescue.
He tried to convince me that gift cards also have the personal touch but failed miserably. At lagoa just then he was going to give up, he said maybe you can make the gift bag and keep the card inside it. At least you have given some personal touch, I couldn't agree more :)
So I decided to crochet a gift bag in which I will keep the gift card. Sometimes I think I agreed to my husband maybe because it gave me an opportunity to crochet. These days my crocheting has become very less because of my son. Though occasionally I crochet a beanie for him and it feels great when your little one wears something which you have made exclusively for him.
Returning to the topic, I wanted to crochet something quick and simple. These days I have lots of stash yarn. I researched many patterns but was quite satisfied by any pattern. Some designs were difficult, some were confusing. At last I decided to try the granny square pattern. It seems that I am obsessed with this pattern. Last year I crocheted twenty to twenty two items and almost all of them were granny square patterns.
This pattern is quite simple. You will find the tutorial in many places though I am posting the pattern again.
i have used 5.5 crochet needle and used the leftover yarn from my stash.
