Edward Robert Hughes. And I am partial to "Heart of Snow" for the contrasting elements of earthly cold and human warmth conveyed by the central figure girl. She reminds me that even in the most sterile or uncaring of societies love and desire have the power to vanquish indifference.
I much prefer E. R. Hughes. I am not much of a fan of the pure abstract, and Botticelli's work, though masterful, is not as photo realistic as Hughes. The work of Hughes, instead of appearing flat, brings you into a world of fantasy. His work is much more desirable to look upon than the work of the other artists mentioned.
