What are Psychological Benefits of Photography?
As an Army Veteran dealing with many issues when I returned to the states after my OIF tour in Iraq. Many things changed in my mind when it came to being normal. The feeling of being out of place, thoughts of dramatic events and the loss of friends. To return home was not easy but the the thoughts of getting home stays on your mind. It seems the world never pauses but your heart might time to time when you hear mortars coming your way. Anyways there are no true remedies for PTSD and Anxiety, but I found it in Photography. Its a quiet place you go, you see the world differently and time pauses.
* It is a way for someone emotionally detached from events to still be involved in them, by recording them.
* If you have memory problems, you've documented events in visual form.
* For introverts, you can hide behind the camera while others pose and interact. You're involved without being socially involved.
