I'm in need of a good software tool that I can use for simple drawing, image manipulation, etc. And I don't have any money to spend. Any suggestions? I've seen GIMP which seems to be very powerful but also seems to have a high learning curve? Anything simpler.
Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!
I use Paint.net. Very simple to use but also limited - however it does most things I need.

I can sell you mine if you are missing yours
At sketchfu.com there is a free tool there to use and I highly recommend it! and you can figure out Gimp at your own leisure....
Alias sketchbook Pro
Corel Painter Essentials 4
I like GIMP myself. It may seem a little complicated but one you start playing with it you will get the hang of it.

I recently got back into free sketching images then editing them on the computer. It is quite fun. I would love to see your work.
