Pros and cons of wearing a seat belt. Also, why do some states enforce wearing one and others don't?

Hi. I would say there are only pro's of wearing a seatbelt.
Safety is of foremost importance when it has already witnessed and proved that many deaths happen on account of automobile accidents.
Why some states enforce and some dont? Well there are few angles to it, Commercial as well as statutory.
Commercial angle reflects the insistence of few safety equipment manufacturers who enjoy a authoritative position and are in a way to influence decisions to market their products. Stautory requirements reflect the Govt's need to safeguard its people interest thereby demonstrating a greater sense of accountability and belongingness.

    Hello,
I think there is not a single negative thing I can write or say about wearing a Seat belt. I can tell you from personal experience that I was in head on car crash and the seat beat saved my life. I think we should all wear our seat belts and wear them correctly.
I also hate to say it but I think we should enforce wearing a Seat belt all over the US; reason being is that people do not have common sense. Common sense now a days  is a rare thing people just don’t think any more and now we need the government to think for us.

I don't find any cons of wearing a seat belt except pros. There is no wrong wearing seat belt. Its for our safety only.It depends on the States safety measures and rules. I suggest every one to wear seat belt.

you have probably hear someone say i wish i had put my belt on, because most freak accidents cause serious damage to the torso and face of the victim especially if there is no Airbags installed, its better to have one on . On very few occasions does someone get hurt by a belt, on most occasions though people are saved by the belt. Always wear one , ensure you children to have safety belts strapping the baby seat.
