According to studies of people who had near-death experiences and went into "the world beyond," they learned that the most important thing is loving while we are alive. The second thing emphasized is the gaining of knowledge, for self-growth and to help others.

(Paraphrased from the book "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot)

Believe this if you wish.  wink

well the meaning of life is 42

I love the optimistic long winded answers however
your born you die & you do some stuff in between that doesn`t really count for much apart from contributing to the population.

I think the answer to the question is as varied as their are people who are seeking.  I've devoted a great deal of time seeking, exploring and asking others this very question.  Is the purpose service, or making money, rasing a family, being a teacher, preaching the gospel, inspiring through meaningful activity, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick.... the list is long.  One thing I think is this...is there something you enjoy doing so much you would do for free?  Is there something you are so passionate about that you waking up thinking about and go to sleep thinking about? Just may be that it is your purpose.  A book I read years ago titled "Do what you Love and the Money will Follow".  I don't know if that is true, but I do know that during those periods in my life that I have happily worked...didn't worry about the hours or the task...just loved doing what I was doing, I wasn't as concerned about the paycheck.
