My 2006 Ford Fusion has had a bad steering wheel shake that comes and goes, but not while braking?
Issue is completely random, shake feels like an unbalanced tire, yet problem comes and then disappears and car feels completely normal. Not a braking issue as the steering wheel oscillation happened once when decelerating, but not on the brakes. The other time it happened with very moderate acceleration at highway speeds, lasted 15 seconds and then went away. Roads were completely smooth, so not road surface related. Steering wheel was shaking side to side. Thinking maybe a bad CV joint causing this intermittent vibration ...what else might it be?
