10 Tips to use for your Daily Commute;Time saving tips

Updated on September 15, 2015

Commuting to and from work can be tedious, so better is to prepare for it. Through this hub I am sharing some helpful tips for those who do not drive to work, suggested by Lesley.

Get updated: Instead of hurrying with your daily morning schedule, reserve your commuting time for reading the newspapers or getting updated on the INTERNET.

Make calls: Make a list of the people you have to call through the day and, while you commute, start calling those who can take your calls like the plumber or the electrician or your appliance service guy.

Making appointments: Got to visit the doctor or make an appointment at your beauty parlour, Do it while you’re on the move.

De-stress: stress plays havoc and what better time to de-stress than during your commute? You can meditate or deep breathe. Concentrate and cut yourself off from the world for a while.

Plan your menu: Use this time to make a list of the dishes that are to be prepared by your cook for the next day. Also list the vegetables and other things that you require.

Recreation: There are some things we all love to do but sometimes cannot find the time for like listening to music or reading a novel etc. Try it while commuting.

Get trendy: The easiest way to learn about fashion and trends is to window-shop-and what better time to do this than while you commute?

Banking: Now most banks have 24-hour Internet and phone banking, do your banking while you commute.

Pay your bills: You can also pay telephone and electricity bills over the phone.

Do your bit: Social service can be very liberating. While on your way to or from work you can drop in at an orphanage or an old age home and give them some edibles.

You can do anything else that you feel to do during your commute, and these are only opinion shared by me based on the tips suggested by Lesley.

Cute list! Forgive that off handed observation. For 15 years or so I was in the constant commute in So. Calif. and it gives me a flashback I really don't need.

Some of the effects of that, I have no doubt, caused me to alter my life dramatically, on multiple occassions. In those few moments in the midst of all those "to do's" it occured to me, to escape! Probably had something to do with my divorce as well? The contention and hours we devote to simply getting to and from work has a cumulative affect.

Like AK Turner, I used to commute in Kuala Lumpur. But I never dared to take out my phone or any gadgets for fear of being mugged. X-D I did enjoy reading and listening to the MP3, though.
