Learn Effective Communication Skills - Enthusiasm - Part 5

Updated on January 29, 2015

How To Make Your Prospect Excited To See You

Enthusiasm is what let's us know we are doing a good job or saying the right things. If a picture is worth a thousands dollars the actual expression of the person your speaking to has to be worth a cool million.

Many are confused by a failed meeting when they have done everything to get the sell sort- to-speak. They are using their listening skills, negotiating skills, dressed properly smell good and never realize that they actually are sending the wrong message by their own reaction. If you are not excited or convinced about what you are saying, neither will the person receiving your message.

  • Smile when speaking or educating. This is a person you are speaking to not a computer. You don't have to be creepy showing all of your teeth. Smile naturally like talking to a family member.
  • Avoid being distracted. This can turn off your recipient leaving you wasting both of your time.
  • Repeat with sincerity what you were told to show that you have a clear understanding of a need or desire of your recipient.

Improving your Communication Skills by Showing Enthusiasm will greatly improve the way your treated, reputation and bottom line. Communicating is so much more than listening and talking; video tape yourself to help you make the necessary changes. This has worked for thousands and is very effective.

Remember when approaching/calling a prospect your emotional state will determine your prospects emotional state. If you seem not to care or bored when you speak you will come off as disinterested and so will your prospect. Wanting to get something you want is emotional and so is giving something of value.

Learning how to be enthusiastic when selling will enable you to move forward. So many don't know why they don't get a call back. Having the wrong attitude when meeting new people will cause you to work twice as hard.

Make up your mind early to have a productive day. Plan each day in advance and stick to that plan. It doesn't matter if you can't do everything, you still will have accomplished more than you would have without a foundation, thus being more productive.

Think about what is great in your life before dealing with your appointments or making calls. Smiling when talking on the phone will change the way you sound. But in person you will have to be conscious about how you appear to others. Improve your communication skill and excel to unlimited levels.

Why Enthusiasm Is An Important Communication Skill

  • Prospect is excited because you are excited.
  • Prospect will refer an enthusiastic friendly person.
  • You will be more productive.
  • Prospect will do business with a person excited about their product.

Being enthusiastic about life will instantly make people gravitate to you and want to deal with you. Just imagine walking into the motor vehicle department and you see several agents looking at you but only one looked friendly and happy to be of help.

Who would you prefer to talk to? You guessed it...Now look in the mirror and practice smiling and acting enthusiastic and excited about life. You don't have to come off phony, just be energized about the information you are about to share and mean it.
