I've worked in the Information Technology field for several years now (most of it working with small firms), and pose the above question to my fellow Hubbers. What strategies/philosophies/actions are necessary for a small business to stay the course? We all hear about how many small businesses fail in America, but what do YOU think it takes for a growing firm to keep its doors open? Here's my go-to list:

I want to contact local business owners in Menomonie, Wisconsin and brainstorm ways to improve the local economy. Does anyone have any suggestions? Keep in mind that it's a college town and has about 14,000 residents...
