Internet marketing is a broad subject, covering SEO (search engine optimization), PPC (pay per click advertisement), SMO (social media optimization), and even Web design (less directly). Your best bet is to pick up a book or two on the subject and find a few good industry leaders in the space to follow. I recommend you read what is posted over on http://Sphinn.com as a starting point - it's kind of like a Digg or Reddit for Internet marketers, with a focus on SEO, so you'll find lots of good articles and some good blogs to follow. I also recommend checking out this article by the folks over on SEOmoz: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/6-ways-to-learn-seo to get a handle on the SEO side of things.
Best of luck!
Great stuff, FindYourSearch, but i'd definitely avoid spending any money right off the bat. Once you start looking around, you'll find plenty of offers willing to teach you everything for $47. Don't buy in.
Learn what you can from blogs, forums, and Hubs and start out with free traffic sources. Your main goal should be to get good at it with free sources, before you start spending money.
I am a php programmer/Mysql/Graphic Designer I have worked online for 13 years but I wasnt an internet marketer. I tried internet marketing over the years but I got confused so many people giving different advice.
My mum acually got a program and wanted me to help her with it she had a mentoring program it is really cool acually I have learned so much it has given me a big boost into internet marketing.
I reccomend you look into a mentor just wile you start they will give you tons of great advice after awile you will be able to spot good ideas on your own.
Here is my mentor I get video's, blueprints and free webinars it is really awsome. http://www.eliteecoach.com/dap/a/?a=60
I did the 1 month free trial with the 'keyword academy' which was pretty good. Lots of free videos.
I think it's better to find a highly recommended program and start from there, even if you have to pay.
If you go the free route, you can be inundated with conflicting advice.
The internet is so vast and open. It seems easy and flexible, but that's also the problem.
A business is structured and has to have some kind of plan or focus for you to make money.
There are tons of legit ways to make money online, each with its own culture, set of rules and set of results. But it's a lot of stuff. You will eventually run into all of them.
Considering the technology of today, since you're new, I'd go the Facebook route.
There are many ways of marketing online or internet marketing. One of the ways is affiliate marketing. The first step is to join one of the affiliate networks and became an affilate. This step doesn't require money.
Clickbank affiliate network is great for start. There are literally thousands of Clickbank info products to promote online. People like to buy from Clickbank as trusted online site.
I see you are asking for guides or some coaching sessions to learn internet marketing strategies so find out more about promoting Clickbank products
