Has the real estate market started to turn around yet in the U.S.?
Maybe, but I think it could be heading for another crash, average houseprices should be around 4 times the average wage, however they are currently between 8 and 12 times the average annual wage, depending what part of the world you are in.
Depends on the area and asset type...residential real estate in the hard hit, former boom areas--Florida, California, Nevada seem to be bottoming out. Home builders aren't building to the volumes they used to but the population is still on the increase (except California). Many of the buyers are now renters which will push up prices of residential rental real estate.
If you believe the economy is on the increase, then the office and retail market might have a good turnaround in the next two years.
