Has anyone ever heard of Odesk?

I found it online as a means of getting income for freelance work. I have seen a few hubs on it, but I want to hear personal experiences from anybody who has tried the site and has actually been successful. I don't want to waste my time with it if I don't know anyone who has had a good experience with it. Thanks for the help!

Hi, I use Odesk, and yes it is a good site to use. I haven't needed to use any of the other freelancing sites, I have never struggled to find work on the system.

You often need to sped quite a bit of time on applications, take the tests, and build up your profile, but it is one of the best in my opinion.

    Good luck.

    Yeah, I've used it before.
Just make sure you pick a good worker since some of the really cheap ones don't know how to perform your task and take a LONG time to do it (and thus, cost you a lot of $$$). Your best best would be to negotiate a fixed price for your whole project with the worker beforehand.

    Hey!

I've been working there for the past few years. It pays, and it pays good. The best part of it is that you are allowed to get a Payoneer card - This is a MasterCard that you can use anywhere.

    Personally, I love oDesk.

    Good Luck!

My HubPage friend, Teresa Schultz has used it and rates the site highly.  There is probably a review of hers somewhere if you can find it!  I certainly trust her judgement.  :-)

odesk is a site that brings together freelancers that are searching for writing work with publishers that are searching for writers.

there are some jobs that are offered on the odesk that pay per hour, instead of the typical per job. for the per hour work, you must work on odesk website software that can track your work. a software is downloaded to your desktop

in addition, they offer proficiency skill tests that you can take to display to prospective employers what your skills are on the site.

when you are hired through a freealancer job sites typically you have to pay the site a fee for bringing the job together. i am not certain what that amount is on odesk.

i have a blog that focuses on freealance writing for income. come and pay us a visit if you have questions concerning sites that require bids for jobs and how to get the most our of your content for the work provided.

I do, in fact I am a member of oDesk. I don't know if you can call it successful but I am earning higher than the minimum monthly income an average worker gets. And don't worry, I see a few successful contractors over there.
