    Because they actually might be? Or they are jealous of you and they're trying to get to you.

    Usually it means they lack self-confidence and have such low self esteem that they must make fun of others in order to feel better about themselves. People who are awesome know it and have no need to make others feel bad, in fact these are usually the people who will make you feel better!

    Another group of people who might fit that description are over-confident and self-absorbed to the point where they are completely insensitive to other people's needs and oblivious to other people's talents. It comes off like they think they're better than everyone, and most of the time that doesn't even occur to this particular group of people. They're just mostly living in their own little self-congratulatory world and don't care how they look to everyone else.

    That's easy, because you are better than them. They are too scare to take the truth, so they have pretend to be better than you. LOL.
